This photomicrograph of a sample of pus from a Guinea pig, Cavia porcellus, revealed the presence of numbers of Coccidioides sp. fungal sporangia. Sporangia are mature spherules, which contain endospores, or sporangiospores, the reproductive cells of this organism.
