===FDA-Labeled Indications and Dosage (Adult)===

====Hypertension====

Upon patient presentation: 3 IV boluses of 5 mg each at 2-minute intervals. 

Fifteen minutes after full IV dose (15 mg): initiate 50 mg ORALLY every 6 hours for 48 hours

If unable to tolerate the full IV dose: initiate 25 to 50 mg ORALLY every 6 hours for 48 hours.

Lopressor may be used alone or in combination with other [[antihypertensive agent]]s.

====Angina Pectoris====

Lopressor is indicated in the long-term treatment of [[angina pectoris]].

====Myocardial Infarction====

Lopressor ampuls and tablets are indicated in the treatment of [[Hemodynamics|hemodynamically]] stable patients with definite or suspected [[acute myocardial infarction]] to reduce cardiovascular [[mortality]].
