Overview
Surgery
Hypergastrinemia due to achlorhydria secondary to PPI therapy or resection of the gastric fundus is known to cause enterochromaffin-like (ECL) cells hyperplasia and gastric carcinoids. Surgery is the only potentially curative therapy for carcinoid tumors.
