Overview

Upper gastrointestinal series (barium meal) may be helpful in the diagnosis of infantile pyloric stenosis. Findings on an upper gastrointestinal series suggestive of infantile pyloric stenosis include delayed gastric emptying, string sign, and shoulder sign.
