Overview
Ultrasound may be helpful in the diagnosis of pleural effusion among patients with adenocarcinoma of the lung.
Ultrasound
- Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to make images of structures in the body.[1]
- Ultrasound is used:
- In combination with bronchoscopy (endobronchial ultrasound) to look at and take samples from the lymph nodes in the mediastinum
- To look for any fluid in the lungs or chest
