Overview
Some measures might help in secondary prevention of wilms tumor.Testing should be done in patients suffering from certain syndromes which are associated with wilms tumor to detect them early. If a patient is suffering from Denys-Drash syndrome then prophylactic bilateral nephrectomy may be considered.
Secondary Prevention
- Some measures that might help in secondary prevention of wilms tumor are:-
- Testing should be done in patients suffering from certain syndromes which are associated with wilms tumor to detect them early.[1][2]
- Genetic counselling may be of some help to parents with a family history of wilms tumor.[3]
- If a patient is suffering from Denys-Drash syndrome then prophylactic bilateral nephrectomy may be considered.[4]
