Overview
There are no echocardiography/ultrasound findings associated with melanoma. However, an ultrasound may be helpful in the diagnosis of complications of melanoma which include metastasis and invasion of the local tissue.
Ultrasound
- Ultrasound can be a useful and cost-effective tool in the staging of melanoma.[1]
- Ovarian metastatic lesion on ultrasound can have a solid appearance with rich vascularization. It can help in differentiating between primary ovarian cancer and ovarian melanoma metastases.[2]
- Ocular ultrasound can detect extrascleral extension in choroidal melanoma.[3]
