Overview
Laboratory findings consistent with the diagnosis of adenoiditis include neutrophilia, positive culture for organism during throat exam sampling, and positive blood culture for the organism in severe cases.[1]
Laboratory findings
- Neutrophilia on complete blood count (CBC)
- Culture of swabs taken from the throat: May grow the pathogen
- Blood tests to determine the presence of organisms in blood (especially in ill patients with acute disease)
