Surgical indications are life-threatening hemoptysis or disease that is unresponsive to medical treatment.
Bronchiectasis Surgery
- Before antibiotic therapy, the mainstay of treatment was surgery[1]
- Indications for surgery
- Life-threatening hemoptysis
- Disease that is unresponsive to medical treatment
- If the disease is very advanced, a lung transplant can be done. If there is sepsis, a double-lung transplant is preferred.
