Overview
Echocardiography may be performed to document ejection fraction (EF) and any signs of ventricular systolic dysfunction if diphtheria infection has been complicated by systemic involvement of the myocardium.[1]
Echocardiography
Echocardiography may be done to document ejection fraction (EF) and any signs of ventricular systolic dysfunction if diphtheria infection has been complicated by systemic involvement of the myocardium.[1] Ventricular systolic dysfunction has been documented in cases of severe diphtheric myocarditis.[2]
