I am a Deputy Editor-In-Chief of WikiDoc.
I am a Professor Emerit of Internal Medicine at the KU School of Medicine-Wichita. Previously, I taught Population Health in Practice to our senior medical students.[1] Each of the projects in the course is justified by a literature assessment. Each project team summarizes their assessment at WikiDoc (list of edits). This use of learning evidence-based medicine by executing evidence-based edits began in 2007 at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.[2]
I led development of http://openmetaanalysis.github.io which hosts online rapid, living systematic reviews. This project is open-source and transparent. Thus, some of the forest plots are re-used at WikiDoc.[3]
I developed http://sumsearch.org which is a federated search engine that automates some of the work of literature searching.[4]
I developed a citation builder (http://sumsearch.org/cite) for wikimedia products such as WikiDoc, Citizendium, and WikiPedia.[5]
Tools to aid in editing Wikimedia content
Javascript extensions to help editing and reading
- Enhancing your editing with javascript extensions hosted by Greasemonkey (FireFox) or Tampermonkey (Chrome) scripts:
- Navigation popups - good for previewing citations
- Help_talk:Contents
- SUMSearch citation maker]
Templates to create biomedical citation
Enter a PMID, DOI, or PubMed Central ID:
- http://sumsearch.org/cite (with links to ACP Journal Club commentaries.
Other similar tools:
- http://toolserver.org/~verisimilus/Scholar/Cite.php (similar to diberri)
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:SCHOLAR (uses Greasemonkey script)
