Overview
Other diagnostic studies for mediastinitis include positron emission tomography and fiberoptic bronchoscopy.[1]
Other imaging findings
Other diagnostic studies for mediastinitis include positron emission tomography and fiberoptic bronchoscopy.[1]
Positron emission tomography
Positron emission tomography with computed tomography (PET/CT) may demonstrate increased fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake at the right hilar mass lesion and mediastinal lymph nodes, which is considered abnormal.
Fiberoptic bronchoscopy
Fiberoptic bronchoscopy may demonstrate mucosal distortion of right upper lobe.
