Angiomyolipoma


25-35 yo males
* Fever, chills, night sweats, and abdominal pain
Asymptomatic
* Hematuria, pallor, and weight loss
Fever, flank pain ,hematuria, hypertension, nausea, vomiting,
Tuberous sclerosis


Palpable mass
Hypovolemic shock if ruptured


Anemia
* Costovertebral tenderness
 
 
Blood vessels, smooth muscle, and mature adipose tissue
Hemorrhage and necrosis
 
 
 
Well circumscribe highly echogenic mass on ultrasonography
Negative Hounsfield units (HU) on CT scan
Calcification is rare
 
 
TSC1 and TSC2 gene mutation
HMB45 Positive




* Elevated WBC count
* Elevated ESR and CRP


* Well defined hypoechoic area within the corticomedullary parenchyma on U/S
* Well defined mass of low attenuation with a thick, irregular wall or pseudocapsule on CT
