Overview
Pertussis can also be diagnosed using direct flourescent antibody (DFA) and pulsed-field gel eletrophoresis tests.
Other Diagnostic Studies
- Direct fluorescent antibody (DFA)
- Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE)
- PFGE is a DNA fingerprinting technique that has the following advantages:[2]
- PFGE's drawbacks include duration of time to perform as well as required a specifically trained and skilled technician.[3]
