Overview
Approximately 5% of patients with Behcet's disease have associated cardiovascular disease.
Cardiovascular Conditions Associated with Behcet's Disease
The following cardiac abnormalities have been associated with Behcet's disease:
- Aortic insufficiency due to a proximal aortitis
- Intra cardiac thrombosis
- Myocardial infarction[1]
- Pericarditis
- Endocarditis
- Mitral Valve Prolapse
- Endomyocardial fibrosis
- Arrhythmias
- Coronary artery vasculitis[2]
- Myocarditis
Vascular manifestations
- Superficial thrombophlebitis
- Deep venous thrombophlebitis
- Small vessel vasculitis
- Arterial Occlusion and/or Aneurysms
