Symptoms include:

  • Fatigue
  • Swelling over different parts of the body
  • Abdominal discomfort due to swelling.
  • Patients may complain about prominent pulsations in the neck.

What causes Tricuspid stenosis?

It is commonly caused by rheumatic fever and can be accompanied by mitral stenosis. Other causes include carcinoid syndrome, endocarditis, endomyocardial fibrosis, lupus erythematosus, right atrial myxoma and congenital tricuspid atresia.

Who is at highest risk?

Rheumatic fever is one the risks factor.

Diagnosis

Tricuspid stenosis should be suspected if you have symptoms

  • Fatigue
  • Swelling over different parts of the body
  • Abdominal discomfort due to swelling.
  • Patients may complain about prominent pulsations in the neck.

When to seek urgent medical care?

Patient who have symptoms like fatigue, swelling over body, breathlessness, racing of heart etc then a medical professional should be contacted.

Treatment options

What to expect (Outlook/Prognosis)
