Overview
A lung cancer patient would be indicated for a sleeve resection if there is a tumor at the origin of a lobar bronchus in which a simple lobectomy is impossible and they are not eligible for a pneumonectomy. It has recently been reported that a sleeve resection is adequate in approximately 13% of the lung cancer population. It is also important to note that a sleeve resection is restricted to people who could not tolerate a pneumonectomy.[1]
