Overview
Apart from all the laboratory tests, imaging studies and assessments a few other tests like spinal tap and evoked potentials are present. These help in differentiating a few brain lesions like infections and in detection of the subclinical encephalopathy.[1]
Other diagnostic studies
Spinal tap
- Identification of infections
- Identification of intra ventricular bleed
- Cerebrospinal fluid for analysis
- Identification of antibodies in cases of autoimmune conditions
Evoked potentials
- These are the electrical recordings that detect the intrinsic activity of the brain.
- The electric activity is recorded basing upon the stimuli.
- P300 is a sensitive to brain function and can detect subclinical hepatic encephalopathy[1]
