Symptoms
- Patients may be asymptomatic if the anemia is mild.
Common Symptoms
Common symptoms of autoimmune hemolytic anemia include:
- Fatigue (feeling weak or tired more often than usual)
- Decreased exercise tolerance
- Headaches
- Problems concentrating or thinking
Symptoms of severe anemia may include:[1]
- Blue color to the sclera
- Brittle nails
- Light-headedness upon standing
- Pale skin color (pallor)
- Shortness of breath
- Sore tongue
- Palpitations
- Angina
- Abdominal pain (from splenomegaly)
