Overview
ST elevation myocardial infarction can result in a number of complications. Complications are stratified into the following categories: ischemic, mechanical, arrythmic, embolic, and pericarditis.
Ischemic Complications
Mechanical Complications
- Cardiogenic shock
- Left ventricular aneurysm
- Myocardial rupture
- Pseudoaneurysm
- Rupture of the ventricular septum
- Papillary muscle rupture
