Electrocardiogram
Cardiac monitoring by ECG may be useful to rule out underlying atrial fibrillation as source of embolism in patients with TIA. 12 lead electrocardiogram is indicated in all patients presenting with symptoms of TIA. A thorough evaluation by 24 hour holter monitoring may be indicated in patients without evidence of any cause of TIA on initial brain imaging or electrocardiogram.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
