Overview
Imaging studies is not commonly done in patients with enterovirus 68 infection. One-fourth of patient may develop lower respiratory complications and abnormal chest X-ray findings may include infiltration and consolidation.
Chest X-Ray
- A chest X-ray will be normal among the majority of patients.
- Abnormal findings may be observed among 25% of patients[1], but other studies report up to 56% of patients.[2]
- Chest X-ray findings include:
- Perihiliar infiltrates
- Consolidation
- Atelectasis
- Air trapping
