Overview
Myopericarditis is a condition in which there is concomitant myocarditis and pericarditis. In isolated pericarditis, there is no elevation of the cardiac biomarkers. If there is inflammation of the underlying myocardium in myopericarditis, there is in contrast an elevation of cardiac biomarkers such as CK-MB and troponin.
