Overview
Paracoccidioides brasiliensis is a dimorphic species of fungus responsible for paracoccidioidomycosis.[1] While the route of infection is assumed to be via inhalation, the environmental habit of P. brasiliensis is unknown.[2] Notably, the organism produces multiple blastoconidia from a single cell. Paracoccidioides brasiliensis causes mucus ulceration of mouth and nose with lymph spread.
