Overview
Other diagnostic studies for optic nerve glioma include visual field tests, biopsy, and cerebral angiography.[1]
Other Diagnostic Studies
Partial or total loss of vision or changes in the optic nerves are typically shown by a neurological exam. The other tests used to help diagnose optic nerve glioma in addition to physical examination are:[1]
- Cerebral angiography
- Visual field tests
- Biopsy
In a child with neurofibromatosis 1, vision is closely followed. A doctor may order a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan to confirm the diagnosis if the vision starts to worsen.
