Overview
Hepatocellular adenoma may be classified into four subtypes based on the rate of occurence.[1]
Classification
Hepatocellular adenoma may be classified into four subtypes based on the rate of occurence.[1]
- Inflammatory hepatic adenoma: most common, highest rate of bleed
- HNF1-alpha mutated hepatic adenoma: second most common, multiple
- Beta-cateninmutated hepatic adenoma: least common, men on anabolic steroids, glycogen storage disease, familial adenomatous poliposis
- Unclassified hepatocellular adenoma
The table below lists subtypes of hepatocellular adenoma:
Subtype | Description |
---|---|
Inflammatory hepatic adenoma |
|
''HNF1-alpha'' mutated hepatic adenoma |
|
''Beta-catenin'' mutated hepatic adenoma |
|
