Common risk factors in the development of follicular thyroid cancer are iodine deficiency, family history of thyroid cancer, radiation exposure, and age.
Risk Factors
Clinical data have suggested that the development of thyroid cancer is related to several factors.

- Family history of thyroid cancer
- Radiation: Scientists has proven that radiation exposure is a risk factor for thyroid cancer. Radiation therapy for lymphoma, head and neck cancers, lung cancers, and breast cancers are associated with increased exposure of radiation to thyroid.
