- Intermittent pain and swelling which suddenly get worse before meals
- Tenderness, erythema, and a palpable hard lump at submandibular gland region
- Pus discharging from the duct (infection)
- radiopaque mass in duct of submandibular gland on Xray
- Filling defect within the duct on sialographygland
- Enlarged and hyperdense gland associated with calcification on CT
