Surgical resection is not recommended among patients with metastatic linitis plastica. Total gastrectomy is recommended for the management of local disease.[1]

- As the disease is often diagnosed at a very advanced stage, usually with metastasis from peritoneal and lymphatic spread, surgical resection is not recommended among patients with metastatic linitis plastica.[1]
- For patients local disease, total gastrectomy is recommended.[1]
