Mesothelioma may be classified into 3 subtypes:

  • Epithelial: Epithelial variants have a better prognosis
  • Sarcomatoid: The spindle cells of the sarcomatoid may mimic fibrosarcoma or leiomyosarcoma
  • Biphasic
