Epidemiology and Demographics
Prevalence
- MALT lymphoma is the third most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and accounts for approximately 8% of all cases of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.[1]
Age
- MALT lymphoma is a disease that tends to affect the elderly population. Most MALT lymphomas occur in people in their 60's.[1]
Gender
- Males are more commonly affected with gastric MALT lymphoma than females. The male to female ratio is approximately 2.43 to 1.[2]
Race
- There is no racial predilection to MALT lymphoma.[3]
