Overview
The choice of work-up for secondary prevention of non-small cell lung cancer is based on the stage of non-small cell lung cancer at diagnosis. Secondary prevention include chest CT imaging along with periodic evaluation of alert signs in second-hand smokers or active smokers.[1]
Secondary Prevention
- Measures for secondary prevention for non-small cell lung cancer depends on the stage of non-small cell lung cancer at diagnosis. To view the stages of non-small cell lung cancer, click here.
- The standard screening modality for early detection that has been shown substantial benefits is low-dose helical computed tomography (CT) scanning
- Annual screening (patients with high-risk), early detection is discontinued if patients have been 15 years without smoking.
