Overview
In 1883 Koch discovred the bacilli of two forms of two different forms of infectious conjunctivitis, or Egyptian ophthalmia. In 1886 Weeks discovered the same organism to be the cause of "pink-eye". [1] Neonatal Conjunctivitis described in 1750, it is one of the most common infections occurring in the first month of life.[2]
