Overview
CT-scan with contrast is of particular importance for diverticular disease diagnosis.
CT
- CT scan may be diagnostic of diverticulosis.
- On contrast imaging of the gastrointestinal tract, bowel diverticula appear as globular outpouchings, as shown in the image below.[1]
Arrowheads point to multiple diverticula arising from the rectosigmoid region of the colon
