Overview
Surgery
- Surgery is not usually recommended for management of Erysipelas.[1]
- Surgical intervention is primarily indicated for management of complications related to Erysipelas, particularly those causing tissue necrosis.
- Necrotizing fasciitis: Intervention includes debridement of necrotic tissue or amputation of affected limb if indicated.[2][3]
- Gangrene: Intervention includes debridement, amputation, and revascularization when indicated.[4]
