Differential diagnosis
Strep throat must be differentiated from other diseases that cause sore throat and fever:[1][2]
- Other causes of pharyngitis
- Foreign body (e.g., fish bone)
- Chemical exposure
- Referred pain (e.g., dental abscess, otitis media)
