Primary Prevention
Tropical sprue is seen in patients with a history of travel to the endemic region and it usually follows an episode of infectious diarrhea. Therefore hygienic measures have to be followed during the visit to a tropical area.

- Avoid consuming unpasteurized milk or soft cheeses.
- Washing hands frequently and effectively and using alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
