Classification
Cysticercosis can be classified according to the site of infestation by the cysts into:
Neurocysticercosis:
Parenchymal:
- Inside brain parenchyma (most common site)
Extraparenchymal:
- Eyes (ocular cysticercosis)
- Meninges
- Brain ventricles
- Subarachnoid space
Extarneural:
- Cutaneous cysticercosis
- Muscular cysticercosis
