Overview
Cysticercosis is classified according to the site of cysticerci into Neourocysticercosis and extraneural cysticercosis. Neurocysticercosis is further subdivided into Parenchymal and extraparynchemal.

Cysticercosis can be classified according to the site of infestation by the cysts into:[1]
Neurocysticercosis:
Parenchymal:
- Inside brain parenchyma (most common site)[1]
Extraparenchymal:
- Eyes (ocular cysticercosis)
- Meninges
- Brain ventricles
- Subarachnoid space
- Spinal cord
Extarneural:
- Cutaneous cysticercosis
- Muscular cysticercosis
