According to the endocrine society, screening for hypogonadism is recommended. Hypogonadism screening is important in order to diagnose the disease early and provide the appropriate treatment. The endocrine society recommended screening for men patients who present with erectile dysfunction, infertility, HIV patients and young patients with osteoporosis.
Screening
Screening for hypogonadism is not recommended by the endocrine society as it costs a lot. However, it may be performed in men who are thought to be at high risk of having hypogonadism. Screening is performed in men showing the following:[1][2]

- Infertility
- HIV infected individuals
- Men who got exposed to radiation on the brain
