Overview
The x-ray findings associated with Whipple's disease depend on the system involved. These findings are not diagnostic.
X Ray
- The x-ray findings associated with Whipple's disease depend on the system involved.
- Pulmonary and joint involvement could be visible on x-ray. However, these findings are not diagnostic.
- In few patients with pulmonary involvement, chest x-ray may demonstrate:
- Pulmonary infiltrates
- Pleural effusion
- Nodular shadowing
- Small lung volumes
- Mediastinal lymphadenopathy
- In patients with joint involvement, joints usually appear normal on x-ray. However, in rare cases, joint x-ray may show:[1]
