Overview
Common causes of gallstone disease include increasing age, oral contraceptive pills, pregnancy, diabetes and obesity. Less common causes include prolonged fasting, hemolytic anemia and clofibrate treatment. Life threatening causes include conditions causing hepatic and biliary cirrhosis.[1]
