Causes
The cause of scleroderma remains unknown. Although there is thought to be an underlying immunologic abnormality since there are certain characteristic autoantibodies present:[1]
- Antinuclear antibody (ANA)
- Anticentromere antibody
- Anti-scl-70 antibody
