There are no physical examination findings specific to interstitial nephritis. However,

Physical Examination

Physical examination of patients with TIN is usually normal, and no characteristic findings exist.

The presence of fever, rash in acute tubulointerstitial nephritis, livido reticularis, on physical examination is suggestive of TIN. Thorough physical examination may provide clues to the diagnosis.

Appearance of the Patient

• Patients with TIN usually appear normal.

Vital Signs

• fever
• Some patients present with hypertension, although others may be normotensive or hypotensive

Skin

• Skin examination of patients with TIN is usually normal.Rash – 15 percent
• livido reticularis

HEENT

• HEENT examination of patients with TIN is usually normal

Neck

• Neck examination of patients with TIN is usually normal.

Lungs

• Pulmonary examination of patients with TIN is usually normal

Heart

• Cardiovascular examination of patients with TIN is usually normal.

Abdomen

• Abdominal examination of patients with TIN is usually normal

Genitourinary

• Genitourinary examination of patients with [disease name] is usually normal.
