Simplified Geneva Score Calculator
A one-point simplified scoring system replaced the previously weighted scores for each parameter. This was done to reduce the likelihood of error when the score is used in clinical settings. The simplified Geneva score does not lead to a decrease in diagnostic utility when compared to the previous Geneva scores.[1]
Calculation of the Simplified Geneva Score for PE
This handy calculator computes the pre-test probability of pulmonary embolism using simplified Geneva criteria.

Interpretation of the Simplified Geneva Score for PE
Shown below is the interpretation of the simplified Geneva score:
Trichotomous Use of the Simplified Revised Geneva Score
- Score 0-1 points: Low probability of PE (7.7%)
- Score 2-4 points: Intermediate probability of PE (29.4%)
- Score ≥5 points: High probability of PE (64.3%)
Dichotomous Use of the Simplified Revised Geneva Score
