Secondary Prevention
- In case of spontaneous pneumomediastinum without any complications, patients are required to be hospitalized for 24 hours for observational purposes[1][2][3].
- Regular follow-ups are required to avoid recurrence or development of malignant pneumomediastinum.
- Quit tobacco smoking.
- Quit recreational drug use.
- Keep medical condition, which may progress to pneumomediastinum, under control with proper medical therapy.
