Overview
MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of fibroadenoma. On a T1 weighted brain MRI image, fibroadenoma is characterized by a well-defined, isointense mass located at the upper-outer quadrant of the breast.[1]
MRI
- MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of fibroadenoma.
- It has limited ability to differentiate benign lesions from malignant ones on the basis of signal intensity and enhancement alone.[2]
- MRI image characteristics observed among fibroadenoma patients include:[2]
- A lobular, oval or round lesion
- Internal septations which can correlate with collagenous bands on histopathologic analysis.
