Surgery of lipoma includes simple excision, liposuction, and deoxycholate injection.

- Possible side effects of surgery include:
- Scar formation
- Seroma
- Hematoma
- Recurrence is not common and may occur in less than 5% of cases.
- Alternative treatment options include liposuction and subcutaneous deoxycholate injection.[3][4]
