Overview

Common risk factors in the development of atrial flutter include thyrotoxicosis, obesity,pericarditis, pulmonary embolism and diabetes. Less common risk factors include acute myocardial infarction, cardiac surgery, digitalis toxicity and electrolyte imbalance.
