Discovery
- In 1924, Seyderhelm and others were able to produce artificially ahyperchromic anemia in dogs, who hadintestinal stricture and they could relate this anemia to the infection of the intestine. So, this is probably the earliest studies to have established absorption defects in blind loop syndrome, caused by infection.
